The Mylod family owned this property from the late 1800's to 1953.

Mr. Henry Mylod conducted a large milk dealing business at this address for many years. West Dedham farmers and the Westwood farmers brought their milk to him daily to be bottled in his large barn. Mr. Mylod had milk wagons which delivered milk to the surrounding homes and adjacent towns.

After World War I, the grazing land for the cows was gradually bought by developers, which led to Mr. Mylod losing his business. In response, he built a little general store which used to be in front of the property, and installed the first gas station in town around 1920; he also operated a repair business in the barn. The barn was used for many uses over the next few decades including the temporary fire station after the High Street station had a fire.

In 1953, Rose and Louis Larrey bought the property. They lived in the house and conducted Mr. Larrey's plumbing business in the large milk barn for many years.

After Mr. Larrey retired, the property was bought by Eliot Lodge in 1974, whose members created the beautiful building which Westwood enjoys today.

Eliot and Hyde-Park Lodge merged Sept. 1, 1986.
